The Mason Papers

November is coming and it marks the fourth annual National Novel Writing Month Competition. This year I am trying my hand at completing a 50,000 word literary work in less than one month. You can read up on more details at the official site. Thousands of people will try their hand at it and only a few will reach the goal. I doubt that I will, but it is for the children...

This year the competition is also raising money to build libraries in Cambodia.

My entry this year will be my ongoing vision called "The Mason Papers". You might be familiar with it if you read any of the RPG Tales on XGP Gaming. The novel will unfold on one of my Blogger blogs. Click here to read The Mason Papers. The story will unfold on November 1, 2004.

I Hate Elections

God dammit! I can't wait for November 2nd to come and go. I can't wait for my normal commercials of corporation products to return. I am so sick of campaign ads over and over. It's not just the national presidential smear campaigns that I am talking about. I am talking about the local offices that are up for elections. These are the worst produced TV spots and the politicians in them are spooky looking. For example, Ginny Schrader is one ugly broad. I'm so glad that I don't have HDTV or she might scare the shit out of my kids.

Once again, TV stations make a killing off our government's actions. If there was only a way to ttake all the money paid to run every political spot, we could do something useful with it. For example, fund more war (I mean rebuilding) in Iraq. I'm all for the actions that we need to take in the fight against terrorism. Granted there might of been better ways at going about it but what we are doing is better than nothing.

You know what, I do not plan on droning on and on about my political beleifs on the local and international level. I'm going back to watching my puppet sex movie (Team America: World Police). That fat bastard Michael Moore just blew himself up. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Um go Bush! (I guess)

Halloween Party is Coming

It's the second to our annual Halloween party at the house. Actually, it falls on the same weekend as the turning back of the clocks. My wife and I think that this is a good weekend to keep holding this function. It gives us and our party-goers an extra hour to recuperate from a night of booze and bonding. This year is strictly for friends. Shit has been very hectic around here with the birth of our second (and last) offspring. He, Mason, actually turns one-month old today. Once we get back into a good routine, we will hold a huge party again combining friends and family for a feast of eats and drinks.

With the minus of family on the guest list, the party can head the "party" way my friends are used to me throwing. The keg will flow faster, the booze poured stronger, and the beer pong table will be in full swing from the gitgo. Come on, you think the webmaster of Drinking Games For Us can throw a party without a drinking game or two? I'm recruiting my three-year old as my partner again this year. Last year, he sank three cups in a row! MY BOY!!! (Don't worry...I drink the cups for him.

There will be a few other local webmasters on hand for my party including Eric(We Are Drunks and Smut Peddlers) and Silas(Hometown Honeys).
